Kaduna: Bandits Kill Eight, Injure 20, Kidnap Several in Kachia LGA

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Suspected bandits have reportedly killed eight people, injured at least 20 others, and kidnapped several residents in Wake village, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The attack, which occurred on Sunday morning, was confirmed in a statement by the former Chairman of the Middle Belt Forum (MBF), Kaduna State chapter, Comrade Isaac Tanko.

Tanko described the incident as “disheartening,” lamenting that the world has remained silent despite the repeated attacks in Southern Kaduna. He said, “Eight killed, 20 left wounded and others kidnapped in Wake community, Kachia Local Government. When I was Chairman of MBF, Kaduna State, we made it clear that granting pardon to bandit terrorists was fundamentally wrong, bizarre, and an insult to their victims.”

He further argued that claims of improved security in Southern Kaduna are false, insisting that the frequent killings and mass kidnappings prove otherwise. Tanko also alleged that government was controlling the media narrative as well as some appointees from the region.

As of press time, the Kaduna State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, was yet to respond to inquiries on the incident.
