Kaduna Constitutes Committee to Review State’s Parastatals’ Performance

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

On Monday, Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani approved the constitution of a high-powered committee to review the performance of all state government parastatals. This decision aligns with the Governor’s commitment to ensuring that government agencies operate with the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness, as stated in a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Muhammad Shehu Molash.

The committee, chaired by Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive analysis and appraisal of all state government parastatals. Its main objectives are to assess their performance, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations as necessary.

Other members of the committee include Sani Kila – Chief of Staff (Sir Kashim Ibrahim House), Habiba Shekarau – Head of Service (Hassan Usman Katsina House), Muhammad Hafiz Bayero – Senior Advisor-Counsellor (Sir Kashim Ibrahim House), Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar – Honorary Advisor (Sir Kashim Ibrahim House), and four others.

The committee’s terms of reference include assessing the qualifications and experience of the heads of the parastatals, conducting a comprehensive evaluation of their performance based on their functions, and making recommendations for each parastatal.

Additionally, the committee is expected to provide any other recommendations that will enhance the proper functioning of the parastatals. The report is to be submitted within three weeks.

“This exercise is essential to ensure that the state government delivers on its mandate to the people of Kaduna State. The committee’s findings will help identify areas where government agencies can improve their service delivery and meet the needs of the citizens. The Governor urged all parastatals to cooperate fully with the committee to ensure a successful evaluation process,” the statement read.
