Kaduna fed. Legislator, NCFRMI trains 2,600 Women, Youths on Skills

A federal lawmaker representing Zaria Federal Constituency of kaduna state, Dr. Abas Tajuddeen has collaborated with the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, (NCFRMI) in providing skills acquisition training for 2,600 Women and Youths in his constituency.

Participants drawn from the 13 wards of Zaria Local Government Area of the state, engaged in the week-long training were essentially women and youths particularly less privileged in the society.

Representing the Legislator at the training programme held in Zaria, his Campaign Director, Engr. Jamilu Ahmad Mohammed said the effort was aimed at complimenting Government’s Initiative towards providing skills and job opportunity to teaming youths and women.

He explained that the programme was conducted in batches, starting with 500 people, 360 and later the total number grows up to 2,600 Persons.
“This is because 200 people were selected each, from the 13 wards of the local government.
“That give us a total of 2,600 people benefitting from the training programme”, he said.

Engineer Mohammed further explained that the Legislator ensured that the people selected for the programme were basically poor and less privileged.
He said participants were trained in Six skills including Costomology, Perfume, Cream and Soap making, among others. According to him, after issuing participants with certificate of attendance, the Legislator also provide them with basic starter pack to enable them start business immediately.

Dr. Tajuddeen similarly gave each participant a token cash gift of N10,000 to allow them improve their identified business outfit.


He noted that those trained will continue to be monitored by his ward representatives to ensure sustainability of the business.

The Legislator pledged his readiness to continue with similar gesture to reduce idleness and joblessness by both youths and women among the society.
