A Community Development Associations (CDA) forum has strongly condemned the recent abduction of 17 people at Fadan Ruruma in Kumana Chiefdom, Kauru Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State.

The forum’s leadership expressed deep concern over the frequent attacks, kidnappings, and killings of innocent residents by armed bandits in the area.

In a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Daniel D. Achi, the forum lamented that “the activities of armed bandits have become unbearable, with attacks and abductions occurring almost daily, without fear.”

According to the statement, many residents have fled their homes, leaving behind unharvested farm produce due to the persistent insecurity.

Condemning the latest attack, which took place on Thursday night in Fadan Ruruma, Kwassam Ward, Achi called on the government to urgently reinforce security measures to protect lives and property.

The statement also recalled that last week, a young man was killed, another injured in Akansa, Rumaya, and several others remain in terrorist captivity.

Achi further appealed to the Kaduna State Government and relevant authorities to establish a military strike force in Kauru and Kumana to complement the existing unit in Damakasuwa, Chawai Chiefdom.

Additionally, he urged the government to find lasting solutions to cross-border attacks affecting Chawai Chiefdom, particularly in communities bordering Bassa Local Government Area in Plateau State.
