Kaduna: Foundation purchase UTME forms for 60 students

BY Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

In a determination to give back to the society, Caleb Danladi Foundation has awarded seven indigent students the scholarship to study in the university and also purchased Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms for about 60 other students in Kaduna State.

The foundation said the beneficiaries were drawn from various communities within Jaba and Kagarko local government areas of Southern part of Kaduna the state.

Speaking during the presentation of the award letters to the benefiting students, the founder of the foundation, Caleb Danladi, said the gesture was aimed at suppoting the less-privillaged in their bid to acquired university education.

According to him, the secret of ensuring a meaningful life is to learn the act of giving back to the community and supporting the well-being of the less privileged.

The founder, who was represented at the ceremony by the Coordinator, Jaba Local Government Area, David Tuk, reiterated his desire to support child education and return out-of-school children back to the classrooms.

He said: “I have a burning passion to support child education and getting out of school children back to the classroom.

“Reducing the number of out of -school children and improving the quality of education from childhood to adolescence.

“As you are aware, we have more than 10.5 million out-of-school children in Nigeria even though primary school education is officially free.

“My plan to put out of school children back into classrooms requires collaboration, community engagement, providing support, creating awareness, and tracking the number of out-of-school children”, he said.

He also explained that the foundation would be launching a stakeholder’s engagement programme to promote basic education and tracking of out-of-school children within the communities.

Mr Danladi pointed out the key to fulfillment is not receiving, but giving to the vulnerable and desirous person, hence the need to focus on the education of the younger ones.

He therefore called on high-profile individuals to key into the project in order to cushion the plight of less privileged in communities and the downtrodden.
