Speaking at the Assembly chambers, the governor described the budget as a tool for inclusive growth aimed at creating jobs, improving infrastructure, and uplifting the standard of living across the state.

“Our 2025 budget is designed to build a state that is safe, prosperous, and equitable for all. It reflects our commitment to making Kaduna a place where everyone can thrive,” he said.

The budget allocates ₦553 billion (70%) to capital expenditure and ₦237 billion (30%) to recurrent expenditure, with education receiving the largest share of ₦206.6 billion (26.14%).

Education
The education allocation will fund new school constructions, the rehabilitation of existing facilities, teacher recruitment and training, and the provision of learning materials.
“We recognize education as a catalyst for development, and that is why it takes the lion’s share of the budget,” Sani explained.

Health
The health sector received ₦127 billion (16.07%), earmarked for upgrading healthcare facilities, procuring medical equipment, and expanding mobile healthcare services. “Access to quality healthcare remains a priority for this administration,” he added.

Infrastructure
₦106 billion (13.14%) was allocated to infrastructure for road construction, rural electrification, water supply, and other public works projects aimed at boosting economic activities.

Agriculture
Agriculture was allocated ₦74 billion (9.36%) to drive innovation, support smallholder farmers, promote agro-processing, and expand irrigation projects.

Security and Social Welfare
Security received ₦11.2 billion, while ₦9.8 billion (1.24%) was set aside for social welfare programs. The governor highlighted the 2024 recruitment of 7,000 personnel into the Kaduna Vigilance Service (KADVS) and the distribution of 150 patrol vehicles and 500 motorcycles to security operatives as significant achievements.

Call for Legislative Support
Sani thanked the State Assembly for their collaboration and urged them to support the budget proposal.
“I urge you to carefully consider this budget and provide the necessary support so we can collectively transform Kaduna State into a beacon of development and prosperity,” he said.

The proposed budget reflects the administration’s ongoing commitment to addressing critical challenges and enhancing the quality of life for all residents of Kaduna State.
