Kaduna: NTA Staff Allegedly Kidnapped on Journey from Zamfara

A staff member of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Bashir Umar, has reportedly been kidnapped by suspected gunmen.

Umar was allegedly abducted on Monday, December 16, 2024, while traveling from Zamfara to Zaria in Kaduna State, according to eyewitness reports.

Details about the purpose of his trip to Zamfara remain unclear. However, sources confirmed that Umar is attached to the NTA substation in Zaria.

Social media reports circulating on Monday stated: “NTA Zaria’s Bashir Umar was kidnapped on his way from Zamfara State to Zaria today, Monday, 16/12/2024.”

As of the time of filing this report, no further information regarding the incident or demands from the abductors has been released. Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
