By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

In a successful operation, Nigerian Army troops have dismantled terrorist hideouts in Kaduna State, rescuing 13 abducted students and seizing a significant cache of arms and ammunition. The operation, which took place on September 12, 2024, also led to the neutralization of several insurgents and the capture of others.

According to a statement, the troops acted on reliable intelligence and launched a coordinated attack targeting terrorist camps in Chigbolu village, Kachia Local Government Area. Following an intense firefight, the terrorists fled, abandoning their captives. The rescued victims included six males and seven females.

In addition to freeing the hostages, the troops intercepted two notorious terrorist logistics suppliers, confiscating over ₦1.3 million, SIM cards, mobile phones, and other items.

A separate operation in Suleja, Niger State, saw the neutralization of three terrorists and the capture of three others, leading to the recovery of arms, ammunition, and over ₦4 million.

These operations mark a major victory in the fight against banditry and terrorism, underscoring the Nigerian Army’s determination to restore peace and security across the country. The Chief of Army Staff commended the troops and urged them to maintain the momentum of these offensives.
