KEDCO MD Receives 3 Brigade Commander to Strengthen Security for Power Infrastructure

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), Dr. Abubakar Shuaibu Jimeta, has received the Commander of the 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General AM Tukur, during a courtesy visit at the company’s headquarters in Kano.

The visit focused on strengthening cooperation between KEDCO and the Nigerian Army, particularly in protecting electricity infrastructure and ensuring the security of power distribution assets within the company’s franchise area.

Speaking during the meeting, Jimeta expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army for its continued support in safeguarding power facilities and maintaining security in communities served by the distribution company.

He noted that electricity infrastructure plays a critical role in socio-economic development and requires close collaboration with security agencies to prevent vandalism and other threats to power installations. Jimeta also reaffirmed KEDCO’s commitment to improving electricity supply and maintaining operational stability across its service areas.In his remarks, Brigadier General Tukur commended KEDCO for its role in providing electricity to homes, businesses and industries in the region.

He reiterated the Nigerian Army’s commitment to supporting efforts that promote national development and protect critical national infrastructure. Both parties agreed to strengthen collaboration aimed at improving security around electricity facilities and supporting reliable power distribution in Kano and neighbouring areas.
