KGIRS Chairman Felicitates with Christian Faithful, Calls for Spiritual Renewal at Christmas

By Noah Ocheni, Lokoja

The Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS), Dr. Sule Salihu Enehe, has congratulated Christian faithful within the service on the 2025 Christmas celebration, urging them to embrace spiritual renewal and the values exemplified by the birth of Jesus Christ. Dr. Enehe made the call in a Christmas goodwill message to the management and staff of the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, emphasizing the need for reflection, compassion, and peaceful coexistence during the festive season. He said Christmas provides an opportunity for Christians to reflect on the significance of the birth of Jesus Christ and to internalize the virtues of love, sacrifice, and humility, which remain relevant in contemporary society. According to him, the teachings and lifestyle of Jesus Christ continue to inspire humanity across the world, particularly in promoting unity, tolerance, and mutual respect among people of different backgrounds.

Dr. Enehe encouraged Christian staff of the Service to use the season to examine their personal lives and recommit themselves to serving humanity selflessly, noting that genuine love for others is fundamental to building harmonious relationships both within and outside the workplace. He stressed that a renewed commitment to these values would foster stronger cooperation among staff and improve interactions with taxpayers, thereby enhancing service delivery and institutional efficiency. The KGIRS chairman further noted that reflecting on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ could help cultivate ethical conduct, integrity, and dedication to duty, which are essential qualities in public service. He also urged staff members to extend love and compassion to the underprivileged during the festive period, describing such gestures as practical expressions of the Christian faith and a means of positively impacting society.

Dr. Enehe said caring for the less privileged aligns with the broader responsibility of individuals to be worthy representatives of God on earth, especially at a time when many families face economic and social challenges. In his message, he called on staff to celebrate responsibly and remain mindful of the core values of Christmas beyond the festivities, adding that peace and goodwill should guide all interactions during the season and beyond. He concluded by wishing the management and staff of the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service a joyful and productive Christmas celebration, as well as a prosperous and successful New Year in advance. The message reflects the Service’s commitment to promoting ethical values, unity, and social responsibility among its workforce while fostering a positive relationship with the public.
