Meanwhile, residents of Kalaye Road in Hayin Banki community of Kaduna North Local Government Area, have expressed fear over the influx of strange individuals in the community, who were seen mostly in the morning and night on commercial motorcycles.

A resident who craved anonymity, said the strangers, who appeared to be between the age of 18 and 25, were occupying a building that was recently vacated by a village chieftain who had since moved to his state of origin.

” Apart from the strange commercial motorcycle operatives , the place is always besieged by a youth group who smoke Indian hemp openly and chant slogans that frightened peace loving neighbours,” he said.

According to him, the matter was reported to the Village Head but no concrete step was taken to restore peace and harmony in the area, even as the local vigilante group has been doing its best in the locality.
