.. A Doctor’s wife also kidnapped

A retired Warrant Officer of Nigeria Army, Simon Silas has allegedly been kidnapped at his residence at Unguwan Jatau, Maraban Rido-Gbagyi in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Warrant officer Silas was kidnapped on Monday night, with a demand of 3 million Naira ransom by the abductors for his release.
According to Warrant Officer Silas’ wife, Mrs. Mary, who confirmed the incident to journalists in kaduna, the main target of the kidnappers was herself, but her husband pleaded with the kidnappers to take him, instead of his wife because of her health challenges.
Investigation also revealed that a similar kidnap operation took place in the neighboring Nisi Village last Friday, where a wife of a Medical Doctor was taken away at about 1.30 am, and was yet to be released by the kidnappers, at the time of filling this story.
An eyewitness and resident of Ungwan Jatau, Mr. Moses Usman, who was a witness to the kidnapping of Warrant Officer Silas, called on the state government to come to their rescue by paying priority attention to insecurity bedevilling in the area, saying they no longer sleep with their two eyes closed.
But reacting to the incident, Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Yakubu Abubakar Sabo, said the Police Command was yet to receive report of any of the two kidnap incidents. He promised to make enquiry and take necessary action through the appropriate security channels.
Findings revealed that the menace of kidnapping and armed banditry in’ and around Kaduna is taking a dangerous dimension, as kidnappers not only way lay victims on the highway, but now knock at their homes and pick them off in exchange for ransom before their release
