Kidnapping: Vigilante/Hunters Arrests 10 Suspects In Kogi

No fewer than 10 Suspected Kidnappers were early hours of Monday, arrested by the Vigilante/Hunters groups and Joint Task Force on Kidnappings from Achigili forest in Ofu local government area.

It was gathered that the arrest was carried out at about 1am of 15th February, 2021, following the red alert given to the Local Government chapter of Kogi State Vigilante Group by the Okehi Professional Hunters.

On the marauding of suspected Kidnappers across the forest of the two Local Government areas, our correspondent gathered that through intensive search and improved security architecture, the suspects were apprehended.

Briefing the newsmen at the Local Government Chairman’s lodge, Ugwolawo, the Chairman of Ofu local government council, Hon. Amodu, said the arrest was done by the Vigilante group of Ofu Local Government in synergy with the Okehi Professional Hunters.

Hon. Amodu assured the people of the Local Government that, he will continue to work round the clock with the security operatives to ensure a safe society for all, warning all criminals to desist from crime or have themselves to blame.

He listed items recovered to include One Dane Gun, 10 Cartridges, 10 mobile phones, Vigilante Uniform, a Pen, 10 I-D Cards, one Torchlight and 5 locally made rings, which were handed over to the Police along with the suspect’s.

This according to him was in line with the security policies of the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, to rid the state of criminality for the safety of lives and property.
