Kogi East to Benefit from Karimi’s N300m Scholarship

The Senator, Representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sen. Sunday Steve Karimi over the weekend in Lokoja stressed his readiness to commence
disbursement of N300million as scholarship to students across Kogi State.

Karimi who disclosed this at a Media parley to mark his two years at the Senate with Kogi Journalists, held at the NUJ Press Centre Lokoja said this gesture is in the name of
“Tinubu Support Group and Sen. Sunday Steve Karimi students bursary award of 2025.”

He pointed out that “I have concluded arrangements to give out N100m as bursary to students in the Eastern Senatorial District of the state while I gave bursary of N100m to Kogi West students last year.

“In Kogi Central where we have 57 Wards, I will give Kogi Central N61m as bursary while I will also give N139m to Kogi West students in this years bursary award under the name of Tinubu Support Group and Sen. Sunday Steve Karimi students Bursary Award of 2025.

Karimi  who lamented over the stress students in the west senatorial district are going through
for Joint Admissions Board Exams
said arrangements have been concluded with ‘Titcombe college Old Students Association, my Alma mata, to convert their old Library into Computer Based Test Centre (CBT).

This according to him is to reduce the hardship of citizens from Kogi West from travelling to different parts for Joint Admissions Board Exams. The Centre will also serve citizens from neighbouring States like Kwara and Ekiti States respectively.

On the Local government autonomy, Sen. Karimi said he has been a supporter of the autonomy stressing that since the Supreme Court has ruled, the autonomy will enhance rural development and improved rural life standard.

Karim disclosed that water and electricity projects, facitating employment opportunities for numerous individual across Ministries,MDAs  as well as Military and Paraministary Services were also attended to

He also intervened in road infrastructure to rebuild collapsed Pakuta Bridge as relief to road users, business in Kiri-Bnuland

Other projects as enumerated include; distribution of electricity transformers, efforts to reduce  insecurity in Kogi West through  Building of Military Forward Operating Base for  Nigerian Army respectively.
