The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello On Saturday approved the participation of Kogi State Council for Arts and Culture (KSCAC) in the 33rd edition of National Festival for Arts and Culture (NAFEST) in Jos, Plateau State.
In a Press release signed by the press officer of the ministry, Comrade Gabriel Edicha said the Commissioner of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Comrade Salifu Idachaba conveyed the approval message to the Director in the ministry, Mrs. Wosilat Owuda over the weekend.
According to him, the state governor has charged the Kogi State contingents to be of good character and showcase the rich arts, culture and mineral resources that abound in the state during the event.
He also enjoined the state contingents to win laurels, in order to justify the support of the people of the state.
According to the statement, the commissioner, expressed confidence that the state representatives would make the state proud, in view of the immense preparation by the artistes towards the event.
The festival which scheduled to hold from 21st to 28th November 2020 is an annual event that brings all the states Council for Arts and Culture in the federation together to showcase the diverse rich cultures of the participating states..
In their separate remarks, during a visual meeting of the major stakeholders of the festival, Director General, National Council for Arts and Culture, Otunba Segun Runsewe and the Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lanlong assured the participants of a hitch-free event.
