Kogi Governor Mourns Passing of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. T. A. Lagbaja

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, expressed deep sorrow on Wednesday over the passing of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja. The governor described the loss as a significant blow to the nation, particularly at a critical time when efforts to combat insecurity in Nigeria had gained momentum.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, Governor Ododo praised the late General as “a fearless leader, indomitable fighter, tactical genius, and uncompromising warrior” committed to eliminating terrorism and banditry from Nigeria.

Governor Ododo extended his condolences to President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Sen. Ahmed Bola Tinubu, GCFR; the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; the Military establishment; the government and people of Osun State; and the family of the fallen hero.

He urged the Nigerian Armed Forces to continue pursuing Gen. Lagbaja’s vision of a safe and secure Nigeria, ensuring his legacy lives on. The governor also prayed for the peaceful repose of the late General’s soul.
