Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has concluded arrangement to graduate a total of 7,653 students who have concluded their courses of instructions during it’s 4th combined Convocation, holding on Saturday.

Addressing Journalists on Thursday during the convocation press briefing, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman, explained that students who concluded their courses of instructions have met all the requirements, both in character and learning for 5 academic sessions, between 2013 and 2022 as approved by the Academic Board.

He noted with satisfaction that the number of this year’s graduands is the highest since the inception of the Polytechnic and a significant indication that Kogi State Polytechnic is firmly poised to contribute quality manpower needs of the Country.

“I therefore wish to proudly congratulate our graduands for being worthy of their calling. I am very confident that they will be good ambassadors of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.”

He appreciated Journalists in the state for the tremendous support and partnership he has enjoyed from them. ” It is my hope that this will be sustained as we move to the next phase advancement of the Polytechnic. I look forward to seeing you at the grand finale of the ceremonies on Saturday.”

Dr Ogbo narrated the unfortunate negative academic and administrative activities, but confirmed that the trends have changed for the better.

He disclosed that cases of examination malpractice, cultism and Staff involvement in exploitation of students are now things of the past as stringent measures such as expulsion of both lecturers and students found culpable.

The Rector assured that the task of repairing, reforming and repositioning Kogi State Polytechnic is a work in progress, and therefore enjoined all to continue to contribute their quotas towards the development of the institution as a legacy.
