Barely two weeks after a tanker accident and it’s subsequent explosion Killed many people in Felele- Lokoja, kogi state capital, another Tanker loaded with PMS on Wednesday had an accident on the same Felele, Okene -Lokoja – Abuja Highway.
The tanker which was fully loaded with Premium Motor Spirit, PMS (Petrol) was involved in an accident on Wednesday but no casualty was recorded on the spot.
It was gathered by our Correspondent that the Fire Service and other security personnel were immediately deployed to the scene of the accident to avert possible human casualties.
Towards this development, it was gathered that the state government has warned members of the public who are scooping the PMS from the fallen tanker to desist from such dangerous act to avoid plunging the state into another tragedy of explosion.
In a statement signed by the commissioner for information and communication, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo warned that anyone found to be engaging in activities capable of endangering the lives of the people and property around the accident scene would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
Residents of the area were, however, advised to go about their normal businesses with caution as Government is in charge of the situation.
