Lady stabs husband to death in Niger

In a tragic incident in Nasarawa Village, Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State, a 19-year-old woman named Aisha Aliyu reportedly stabbed her husband, Idris Ahmadu, to death following a disagreement over sex.

The couple, who had been married for only two months, engaged in a heated argument in the early hours of Monday, leading to a fatal confrontation.

According to a source in the village, the altercation escalated, prompting Aisha to grab a kitchen knife and fatally stab Ahmadu in the neck. She continued to inflict multiple stab wounds on him until he collapsed.

Neighbors, alerted by Ahmadu’s screams, rushed to the scene and found him lying in a pool of blood. Despite their efforts to save him by rushing him to a nearby community hospital in Lapai, Ahmadu succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, stated that Aisha was currently on the run. Efforts to apprehend her were underway as the police continued their investigation into the matter.

Abiodun issued a statement, saying, “Today 12/02/2024 at about 1200hrs, information was received that, in the early hours of today, one Idris Ahmadu of Nasarawa village, via Lapai was stabbed to death by his wife, Aisha Aliyu 19/20yrs of the same address. Before the arrival of the police at the scene, the suspect had fled to an unknown destination, while effort was being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspect. Case under investigation please.”
