Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong on Tuesday promised to take care of medical bills of National Youth Service Corps NYSC members involved in an accident while returning from election duties on Sunday.

A statement by Yakubu Dati , the commissioner for information of the state and made available to newsmen in Jos reads that Gov Lalong stated this during an unscheduled visit to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) where the seven corps members who were injured on election duties are being treated.

Gov Lalong who was accompanied by the Deputy Governor, Prof Sonni Tyoden, Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon Idris Ahmed and other top government functionaries, assured them of government support.

It was learned that the affected members of the National Youth Service Corps who were posted to Jos East Council Area for the governorship and House of Assembly elections were returning to Jos when their vehicle was involved in a road accident on Sunday morning.

Although none of the occupants of the vehicle died, many of them were said to have sustained varying degrees of injury.

The Governor also comforted other patients in the hospital especially children who were on admission
