Man, 35, in court for allegedly defiling minor

A Magistrates’ Court, in Ikorodu Lagos on Wednesday has ordered that a 35-year-old man, Jimoh Musibau, should remain in prison for allegedly defiling a minor.

Musibau is charged with indecent assault.

Chief Magistrate F.A. Azeez, who gave the order, did not take the plea of the defendant.

Azeez ordered the Police Counsel return the case file to the office of the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

She adjourned the case until June 6, for mention.

Earlier,the Prosecutor, Sgt John Iberedem, told the court that the accused committed the offence on April 4, at about 7.30 am at No.1 Oshinaike str. Agbede, Olorogbo Agric area in Ikorodu.

Iberedem alleged that the accused unlawfully had canal knowledge of a 16-year-old –girl.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 137 of criminal law of Lagos State, 2015 as amended.

DayBreak reports that the defendant is liable to life imprisonment if found guilty of the offence.
