Man, 42 in court for allegedly stealing N168,000 in Osun

The Osun State Police Command has dragged one commercial driver, Ajewole Abayomi, 42, before an Osogbo Magistrate’s Court, for allegedly stealing N168,000.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Adeoye Kayode, stated that the accused person and others at large, stole the cash belonging to one Sulaiman Saheed.
He said that the accused committed the offence on January 27, 2022, at about 1 PM in Osogbo, capital of Osun State.

Kayode further said that the offence was contrary to section 383 and punishable under section 390(a) of the Criminal Code 34 VOL.II law of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge levelled against him.

The defence counsel, Tunbosun Oladipopo, prayed to the court to grant his client bail on liberal terms.

Magistrate O.A Daramola granted the accused bail and adjourned the case to February 23, 2022, for hearing.
