A man identified as Muhammad Munzali from Kaura Gidan Damo, Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The NSCDC officers, attached to the Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Department in Kano State, made the arrest.
In a statement released on Friday by the NSCDC’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, the arrest of the suspect was confirmed.
The suspect was apprehended around 10pm on Wednesday night while attempting to sneak into the female hostel of Skyline University Nigeria, located along Sardauna Crescent, Nassarawa GRA, Kano State.
Abdullahi revealed that the suspect disguised himself in women’s clothing and was found in possession of local charms.
An investigation is underway to determine the motive behind his intrusion into the private university’s women’s hostel.
The State Commandant of NSCDC, Kano Command, Mohammed Falala, emphasized the importance of heightened surveillance around public and private educational institutions during a recent strategic meeting with management. This measure aims to protect these institutions from criminal activities.
