A 54-year-old man, Jegede Folorunsho, has been remanded in Ikoyi Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling an eight-year-old girl in Mushin, Lagos. The police charged Folorunsho with defilement before Magistrate O.M. Ajayi at a court in Ebute Metta. The police sought to remand the defendant in prison custody, also requesting to duplicate and send the case file to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions for legal advice. The charge stated that Folorunsho allegedly raped the victim on October 4, 2023. The magistrate granted the remand application, ordering the case file to be sent to the DPP for legal advice, and adjourned the case to December 15, 2023.
