Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of RB Leipzig starlet Yan Diomande, tabling a massive €90 million bid for the highly rated attacker.
The 20-year-old Ivorian has been strongly linked with a move away from the Bundesliga in recent weeks after a string of impressive performances. According to AfricaFoot, United have already submitted a formal offer and now appear to be leading the race for his signature, ahead of Premier League rivals Liverpool and Tottenham.
The report claims Leipzig have responded positively to United’s proposal, holding high-level talks internally before granting the English club permission to open contract negotiations with the player’s representatives. Discussions are now said to be ongoing, with United offering Diomande a five-year deal.
Under the proposed agreement, the young forward would earn around €3.5 million per season. The move is expected to be finalised after the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Diomande is widely regarded as one of the brightest attacking talents to emerge from German football in recent years. His pace, flair, and versatility have drawn comparisons to elite Premier League wingers, and United believe he could develop into a key figure at Old Trafford.
Despite already investing heavily in wide players, the Red Devils appear determined to further strengthen their attacking depth. Diomande, for his part, would be keen to establish himself at one of Europe’s biggest clubs and realise his long-term potential in England.
Meanwhile, Liverpool and Tottenham continue to monitor the situation closely and could yet make their own moves, potentially sparking a bidding war. RB Leipzig are expected to welcome such competition as they seek to maximise their return for the AFCON standout.
