Ministerial nominee: Abubakar Kyari profile/biography

Born on January 15, 1963, this individual is a prominent Nigerian politician. He previously served as the Senator representing Borno North Senatorial District of Borno State in the 9th National Assembly from 2015 until his resignation in April 2022. Notably, he holds a significant position as a member and the acting national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress party.

Kyari was born in Borno State, and his father, the Late Brigadier Abba Kyari, served as the military administrator for North Central from 1967 to 1975[5]. He grew up with eight siblings[6].

His education took place in both Nigeria and the United States of America. In 1974, he attended Kaduna Capital School and later enrolled in Barewa College Zaria, where he obtained his WASSCE in 1979. Seeking higher education, he pursued a bachelor’s degree at the University of Tennessee Martin in the USA, which he completed in 1986. Continuing his academic journey, Kyari earned a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, USA in 1989.
