Misau Emirate Confers Historic Title on Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad Maibeti

The Misau Emirate Council in Bauchi State has formally turbaned Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad Maibeti as the First Madauchin Misau, in a ceremony that underscored the emirate’s commitment to preserving tradition and strengthening its leadership structure.

The event, held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Emir’s Palace in Misau Local Government Area, drew a distinguished audience of traditional rulers, Islamic scholars, community leaders, family members, and well-wishers from across and beyond the state.

Presiding over the ceremony, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ahmed Suleiman, mni, the Emir of Misau, described the conferment of the title as a recognition of Maibeti’s character, service, and dedication to the values of the emirate. He emphasized that traditional titles carry responsibilities that go beyond ceremony, serving as instruments for peace, unity, and grassroots development.

“Traditional titles are not merely ceremonial; they are positions of trust and service to the people,” the Emir stated, urging the new Madauchin Misau to uphold loyalty, integrity, and selfless service while working closely with the council and community stakeholders.

In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad Maibeti—son of the late Alhaji Maibeti Ahmad, Majidadin Misau—expressed gratitude to Allah, the Emir, and the entire emirate council for the honour bestowed upon him. He pledged unwavering loyalty to the Emir and promised to discharge his duties with humility, sincerity, and fear of Allah.

“I accept this title with a deep sense of responsibility and commitment to serve the people of Misau and to uphold the dignity of the emirate,” he affirmed.

The ceremony featured Islamic prayers, traditional rites, and cultural displays that highlighted the rich heritage of the Misau Emirate. Attendees hailed the installation as a significant milestone, symbolizing continuity, stability, and the strengthening of the emirate’s traditional institution.

Community members warmly welcomed the turbaning, offering prayers for divine guidance, wisdom, and success in Alhaji Maibeti’s tenure as the First Madauchin Misau.
