Mohbad’s Management Takes Legal Action Against Father for Defamation, Seeks N200 Million Damages

The management of the late singer, Ileriouluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, has initiated legal proceedings against his father, Joseph Aloba, for defamation of character. This move comes in response to Joseph Aloba’s public statements questioning the authenticity of Mohbad’s will and making allegations against his late son’s widow.

Previously, Joseph Aloba raised doubts about the legitimacy of his son’s will, expressing disbelief that a well-educated 26-year-old like Mohbad would opt for a thumbprinted document instead of a signed one. Mohbad’s management refuted these claims, asserting that there was no will and urging the public to refrain from spreading false information.

In the lawsuit, Mohbad’s management accuses Joseph Aloba of defamation and demands a withdrawal of his slanderous statements or payment of N200 million in damages. They emphasize that Joseph Aloba’s claims were intended to garner public sympathy, asserting that no will was presented to Mohbad’s father.

This legal action follows a series of accusations made by Joseph Aloba against his son’s widow, Wunmi, and lawyer, Femi Falana. In a recent interview, he alleged threats to his life, claiming that Wunmi and Falana were pressuring him and making it difficult for him to find a place to live.

These developments add another layer of complexity to the already contentious aftermath of Mohbad’s passing, with family disputes and accusations contributing to the ongoing drama surrounding the late singer’s legacy.
