The Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Plateau State, Hon. Hamisu Anani, has declared that Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s re-election bid in 2027 is unstoppable.
Anani, who also chairs Wase Local Government Area, said the people across the 17 local government councils remain firmly behind the governor on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He made the remark during a tour of projects and stakeholder engagements in Shendam, Langtang North, Wase, Kanam, Pankshin and other councils.
“Plateau State is PDP, and no party will stop PDP from winning the 2027 election. We will re-elect Governor Caleb Mutfwang for a second term,” Anani said, stressing that the governor has shown leadership capacity.
He urged eligible citizens to take the ongoing voter card revalidation exercise seriously to ensure wider participation in the elections.
Other council chairmen also echoed support for Mutfwang. Langtang South Chairman, Hon. Nanfan Alhassan Nbin, said his administration had executed 10 projects without borrowing. Shendam Chairman, Dr. Nicholas Kemi-Nshe, assured that PDP candidates would have an easy ride in 2027 because the projects “will speak for themselves.”
In Langtang North, residents trooped out in large numbers to receive the team, praising their council chairman, Hon. Pirfa Tyem, for ongoing projects, including renovations of the Primary Education Board and Council Secretariat.
Mikang Council Chairman, Hon. Dr. Benard Alkali, reaffirmed the local government’s loyalty to the PDP and revealed that 37 trucks of fertilizer had been procured for farmers, with additional supplies expected from the state government. He said the intervention was designed to boost both wet and dry season farming for grassroots food security.
