The Nasarawa State Government has inaugurated a 13-man Nasarawa State Business Environment Council, which is expected to work in synergy with willing investors towards addressing structural issues in doing business in the state.
Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abbdullahi Sule inaugurated the NEBEC, during the 26th edition of the National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Clinics, which held in Lafia, on Monday.
Engineer Sule said the inauguration of the council, is in line with the Federal Government’s framework to drive reforms on ease of doing business, stressing that it is also the commitment of his administration to drive the economy of the state.
The Governor further emphasized that Nasarawa State has keyed into the Federal Government Initiative of Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP), which he said, led to the development of the Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy (NEDS), as well as initiating policies and programmes geared towards the creation of conducive business environment for business to thrive, poverty reduction and job creation.
Speaking at the event, Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, recalled that the President inaugurated the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, to do all that will be necessary to ensure that that businesses have the best environment to flourish and prosper.
He pointed however that work of creating enabling environment for businesses cannot be done without the states.
