Director General of the centre Dr Jide Idris stated this at a stakeholders meeting held at conference hall of EOC, Specialist hospital, Sokoto.
Dr Jide said he was in the state to see things for himself with regards to the emergence of the strange disease in Isa, Sabon Birni and Illela local government areas and how best the NCDC would support the state in that regard.
According to him, though he has seen the patients affected by the disease and heard the challenges from the stakeholders, stressed that necessary measures would be taking to eliminate the disease.
He then commended the state government for taking proactive measures to address the spread of the disease.
Earlier,the Executive Director State Hospital Services Management Board Dr Bello Abubakar Attahiru and Executive Secretary State Primary Healthcare Development Agency Dr Larai Aliyu Tambuwal briefed the DG on the commitment of the state government since the emergence of the disease in the affected local government areas.
Information Officer, Ministry of Health Nura Bello who passed the information to our correspondent also said the visitors appreciated the commitment and support of rapid response team and other supporting partners who are supporting the state to contain disease.
Later, the DG and his entourage paid a visit to Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar.
