The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has commenced a 12-month specialised training programme for 33 young graduates in pipeline pigging, corrosion control and monitoring.The initiative, organised in partnership with Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited and MJD Oilfield Services Limited, aims to strengthen local technical capacity for protecting Nigeria’s energy infrastructure.
Participants selected for the programme are graduates of engineering and related disciplines. The training will include classroom instruction, simulation exercises, field demonstrations, on-the-job learning, mentorship and continuous performance assessments.
Speaking at the programme, the Human Capital Development Manager of NCDMB, Tarilate Bribena-Teide, who represented the board’s Executive Secretary, Felix Omatsola Ogbe, said the initiative forms part of efforts to build skilled Nigerian professionals in critical areas of the oil and gas industry.She noted that the programme would equip participants with practical skills required for maintaining pipeline systems and preventing corrosion-related failures.
According to her, the training is expected to support major national infrastructure projects, including the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline.Bribena-Teide encouraged the trainees to take full advantage of the opportunity and approach the programme with dedication and discipline. She also commended Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited for partnering with the board to support the development of Nigerian talent in the energy sector.
