The Executive Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, on Monday flagged off the median NCPC annual general staff training program to equip staff for the upcoming pilgrimage exercise .

During the commencement of the 5 -day training which was held at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Asokoro, Abuja, Bishop Adegbite emphasized the importance of training and retraining of staff, adding that it is a part of the government’s policy aimed at improving the productivity of the staff to maximize their output.

He said that the training was made possible because of the prudent spending of the scarce resources available to the Commission.
He explained that the leadership of the Commission had to cultivate the culture of saving in order to achieve the Commission’s set goals.

He however admonished the staff to embrace God in everything they do.

“The number one thing you need in this training is God Almighty”.
He urged the staff never to rest on their oars and should always aspire to acquire more knowledge because everyone is a potential leader.

The NCPC helmsman also stated that under his watch, the Commission had enthroned an efficient system of division of labour, especially as it applies to the zonal offices where they have been empowered to effectively supervise their respective zones.

He stressed that all hands must be on deck to ensure a hitch free pilgrimage operation in the Commission’s upcoming pilgrimage exercise which he assured would be one of the best ever in the history of NCPC.

The NCPC annual training program is slated from 19th to 23rd August, 2024, to run simultaneously in all the six Geo- Political zones where the six zonal offices of the Commission are situated.
The Abuja training centre comprises headquarters staff and staff of the North Central zonal office.
