New Police IG, Egbetokun, Officially Takes Office at Force Headquarters

Acting Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, Assumes Office at Force Headquarters in Abuja.Following an official handover ceremony at approximately 12 noon, the former Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, formally passed on the mantle to the newly appointed acting IGP, Kayode Egbetokun. President Bola Tinubu appointed Egbetokun as the acting IGP, alongside the Service Chiefs, on Tuesday.On Wednesday, Vice President Kashim Shettima decorated the newly appointed acting IGP at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Following his decoration, the acting IGP wasted no time in making his stance clear. He declared a resolute battle against all criminals and enemies of Nigeria.

Expressing his determination, Egbetokun likened himself to a fierce tiger and lion, ready to relentlessly pursue and apprehend criminals and defend the nation against its adversaries.
