Nigerian Army Conduct 2nd Education Submit In Sokoto

……with the mission to plan and execute Army programmes

Nigerian Army Education Corps organized 2nd National Education Submit Sokoto 2021 with the Theme:Education Development And National Security: Issues And The Way Forward conducted at International Conference Center, Kasarawa.

Speaking at the 2nd Submit, the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya noted that this would organize a high profile program to advance discussions on development of education in Nigeria.

He said the Nigerian Army remains resolute in the discharge of its Constitutional roles as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“In line with my visions which is to have a professional Nigerian Army ready to accomplish assigned missions within a joint environment in defence of Nigeria we shall continue to ensure the security of lives and properties of the citizens of this country”.

He said the Nigerian Army has placed high premium on education evident in the recent establishment of the Nigerian Army University Biu and as well transformed the Nigerian Army School of Education to Nigerian Army Institute of Science Education and Technology to oversee the Nigerian Army College of Education Ilorin and College of Environmental Studies Makurdi among others.

Speaking on security, the COAS said the contemporary security challenges in the country are surmountable with the maximum cooperation of every citizen and synergy with all stakeholders and that overcoming these challenges will enable them to achieve the much desired goals and objectives of the nations education system.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Corps Commander Education, Major-geñeral Muhammad Lawal Augie said the NAEC is statutorily saddled with the responsibility of providing educational services to the Nigerian Army which is in line with its mission which is “to plan and execute Nigerian Army programme of educational establishments and training support facilities as required for the professional excellence of Army”.

He added that NAEC as a key stakeholder in the education sector,is desirous to expand its scope beyond the military and aims to achieve this by contributing effectively to Nigeria’s quest to surmount its challenges especially in education and security sectors while performing her roles in nation building.

The Minister of Defence and Special Guest,Major-general Bashir Salihi Magashi (rtd) was delighted that the corps has taken initiative to reactivate this all important event even as the government is not leaving any stone unturned at ensuring the security and safety of the nation.

He said the submit would definitely assist the NA and the Armed Forces of Nigeria to meet the challenges that accompany their roles.

” I appreciate the fact that the NA leadership is always raising the bar for excellence in all aspects of its responsibility “,averred the general.

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar 111 promised to always work along with the military and armed forces towards development and security of the nation more particularly northern Nigeria where insecurity remain uncontrolled.

Masses are more important than any rank or position as they are mostly farmers working day in day out to earn their means of livelihood and similarly labored for the rich because the rich cannot do the labour work themselves.

They said during electioneering campaigns they are the ones who are expected to give maximum number of votes and therefore need to be safe in order to execute the more tedious works.
