Christopher Bayode Olusa, a Nigerian, has embarked on an extraordinary journey to break the Guinness World Record for the longest solo speech marathon, and he has already spoken for an impressive 30 hours.
Olusa is currently delivering his marathon speech at the DEJAVU Hotel, located in Alagbaka, Akure, Ondo State, Southwest Nigeria.
Guinness World Records has officially accepted Olusa’s application for this record-breaking attempt under the title “longest speech marathon” with reference number 230612192313lsm.
In recent months, Nigeria has witnessed a surge in record-breaking endeavors, with notable feats like Chef Hilda Baci’s marathon cooking session, which captured the public’s attention. In May, Baci successfully set a new record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), clocking an astonishing 93 hours and 11 minutes.
The current Guinness World Record for the longest speech marathon stands at 90 hours and 2 minutes, achieved by Ananta Ram KC from Nepal in Kathmandu back in August 2018. Ananta Ram KC’s preparation even included a silence period of nearly seven days before he embarked on the record-breaking speech attempt.
Olusa’s remarkable attempt commenced at 6:15 am on August 27th and is expected to conclude in the early hours of August 31st, 2023. He is determined to push the boundaries of this remarkable achievement.
