Nigerian scientists, environmentalist mobilizes youths against pollution.

As part of marking the World clean-up day 2021, Nigerian scientists and environmentalist have mobilized thousands of youths through social media on ways to halt throw away garbage to save the environment against pollution.


The experts organized a one day sensitization workshop ahead of world international clean-up day 2021.

In line with the cerebration a team of Nigerian scientist, geologist, environmentalist  and volunteer climatologist have commenced a one week campaign to raising

awareness among students  on the importance of cleaning up their surroundings to avert the spread of tropical disease and other environmental disaster which include flood, water-borne diseases, malaria fever, Colera among others.

A Science –climatologist and micro-biologist, Comrade Nurudeen Bello, who is the Director of African Climate reporters said, the aims of the campaign is to raise more awareness to the general public on the harmful effect of throwing away all sort of plastic trash and other garbage into the stream, gutter and river.

The Campaign which kickstart  at school in kaduna is expected to last for one week, while drawing the attension of all students and other residents on the importance of wearing face mask and respecting social distancing to avert the spread of Covid 19.


“They are going to use social media to mobilized thousands of youth and women  and sensitizes them through their android phone on the imporatance of cleaniness of their environment


“We are going to used Facebook,Twitter,Instargram,whatsupp,Badoo and other netweek’while releasing many press statement to multiple media organization across the country to support in creating some jingles.dramer to sensitizes the public about the day”, he said.


He also added that “it is aimed at educating the public on its  dangers to the entire life of human being ,animals and living organism.
He said, a fresh and healthy environment  is very vital for the growth and success of Wild Lifefruits, vegetables, and other species in the environment.


“The environment around us is an essential part of human survival,hence the need to protect it through cleaning and raising more awareness among youth and teenagers on their own contributions”, he stated.
