NIHOTOUR committed to training to support Grass Roots Tourism – Kangiwa

Director General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), Alhaji Nura Sani Kangiwa has reiterated the Institute’s commitment training to promoting to support Grass Roots Tourism development.

Kangiwa disclosed this when the Chairperson of Epe Local Government Area of Lagos stat Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun led her team on a visit to the NIHOTOUR headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.
He said that as part of its human capacity training and development mandate, NIHOTOUR is willing to partner with the Local government in the training of youths of the Council Area in artistry skills in travel-tourism and hospitality related trades.”

The DG disclosed that in line with the Institute’s mandate it is providing training for youths and women across the country, as an antidote for unemployment and youth restiveness such as skill acquisition trainings that create job opportunities.
Training he also pointed is a platform for youths to be gainfully and usefully engaged in the travel tourism and hospitality industry trades and by extension, for the good of the society.

Kangiwa commended the efforts of the Epe Council area in promoting the eco-tourism in Lagos State and emphasized that the hospitality agency is prepared to collaborate and offer support in the area of manpower training needed to drive the tourism activities of the council area.

Epe Councilor, Princess Surah Animashaun explained that the courtesy visit to NIHOTOUR to explore areas of collaboration with the Institute in efforts to promote the tourism potentials of the local government and tap from the economic benefits of the industry.

She then solicited for support of the Institute in empowering youths and women of the council area in the various travel-tourism and hospitality trade.
