The Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Dr George Moghalu, has solicited total dedication to duty from staff of the organisation for effective service delivery.
Moghalu made the call during the authority’s end of year and sent forth celebration held at the authority’s headquarters in Lokoja.
The MD also warned that the authority will not tolerate indolence and laziness from staff adding that those found wanting would be made to face disciplinary action in line with civil service rules and regulations.
Moghalu who stressed the readiness of the authority to introduce better incentives/welfare to staff in the year 2023 called for a positive response with dedication and commitment to hard work.
“I want to assure you that I will improve on what I have done as your head be rest assured that we are in this together and the management will see to it that our salaries are increased next year by God’s grace.”
“For better retirement life, I have approved a training programme for NIWA staff retiring to prepare them for live after service.”
Highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of cash rewards of N100,000 and a picture each for eight retirees from the organisation.
