Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has declared that the present administration would no longer grant amnesty to criminals in the state.
Ortom made the declaration on Saturday at the Burial ceremony of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Chieftain, Dr Terkula Suswam and his aide, Mr Solomon Ternor at his country home, Anyiin in Logo Local Government Area of the state.
The Governor contended that the Benue State Security Council recently declared war on criminals in Sankera and other parts of the state, assuring that the aforementioned Militia gang will be defeated no matter how long it would take.
Ortom described the deceased as a great community Leader who had impacted massively the lives of his people, adding that he would be remembered for the legacies he bequeathed.
The Governor maintained that the Late Dr Terkula Suswam died while trying to bring peace to the land of his birth before he was cut short by death.
He said the deceased had brought development closer to his community by establishing a Polytechnic, radio station among other investments for the benefit of his people only for him to be gruesomely murdered.
Ortom who expressed fear that many investors who may be willing to come and invest may have a rethink for the fear of the unknown, however, appealed to such people not to be afraid of the unfortunate incident, assuring that Government would continue to ensure protection of lives and property.
The Late Dr. Joseph Terkula Suswam who is the immediate elder brother to the former Governor of Benue State, Senator Gabriel Suswam was assassinated last week Tuesday by unknown gunmen at his village Anyiin. Ends
