NYSC redeploys corp members serving in crises-affected areas in Taraba State

The National Youth Service Corp, NYSC  members serving in crisis-affected areas of southern Taraba have been redeployed.

Mrs Florence Yakuugh the NYSC coordinator who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria,  said the move was necessary for the sagety of the Corp members.

Recall that the Federal University, Wukari, Taraba, was closed down due to an attack by Junkun militia against Tiv students.

However, Yakuugh said: ”We received directives from our national headquarters to redeploy our youth corps members serving in these crisis-affected communities.

”We redeployed them out of those places and took them to local government headquarters in Wukari, Donga and Takum for their safety.

” We are appealing to the warring factions to embrace peace and allow the development of their communities.

“NYSC is a unifying institution and it is when there is peace that they can contribute their quarter to the development of their fatherland”.
