The late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, was laid to rest on Friday at his ancestral home in Aliiwo, around 4.30pm.
The monarch, who ruled for two years, passed away at the age of 81 on Thursday at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State, following a brief illness.
Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal, alongside other government officials, attended the interment ceremony at the family burial ground in Aliiwo, Ibadan North Local Government Area.
A lying-in-state was held at Mapo Hall from 12 noon to 1pm before the late monarch’s remains were transported to Aliwo for burial after prayers.
