Omah Lay Calls Davido a Legend Ahead of Upcoming Collaboration

By   Milcah   Tanimu

Nigerian music star Omah Lay has praised fellow artist Davido, describing him as a legend ahead of their anticipated collaboration. In a recent interview on The Baller Alert, Omah Lay expressed admiration for the Afrobeats megastar.

When asked about potential collaborations, Omah Lay revealed that he has a song with Davido set to be released soon. He described the track as a perfect blend that showcases their musical chemistry. “I’m very excited about the record because it’s something I never imagined would be this great and cool,” Omah Lay said.

He emphasized the enjoyable process of working with Davido, noting, “The way we got along and made the record is so cool, and Davido is also an amazing person.”

On the rise of Afrobeats in the US, Omah Lay acknowledged that several notable Nigerian stars are contributing to the genre’s global success, with Davido being one of the biggest names. “Davido is a legend. He is big big,” he stated, highlighting Davido’s significant role in promoting Afrobeats worldwide.

This collaboration follows a previous online stir when Omah Lay expressed concerns about Davido’s feelings towards him. Despite not revealing the song’s title, Omah Lay confirmed its imminent release, which will precede his highly anticipated sophomore album. He recently mentioned having to start over after someone he trusted with his ideas allegedly stole them.

Reflecting on his relationships with fellow Nigerian Afrobeats artists, Omah Lay noted that while there is mutual respect, healthy competition drives them to strive for excellence.
