Osun ALGON gets New Exco


Famodun charges them to make transparency and accountability their watchwords in office.

A new leadership has emerged for the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Osun State chapter.

 The immediate past Chairman of the Association who is also the Chairman, Ifedayo local government, Hon Abiodun Idowu got reelected as Chairman to pilot the affairs of the Association.  

  The election which held in a free and fair atmosphere took place inside  the Conference Room of the state Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, state Secretariat.

Addressing the returned as well as the newly elected exco of the state ALGON, Chairman caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress   in the state, Prince Gboyega  Famodun expressed delight and satisfaction over the rancour free exercise which he described as one of the beauties of democracy.

 Famodun noted that the tasks ahead of each and everyone of them in their various local governments are quite great and enormous.

 He however charged them  to be dedicated, transparent  and forward looking with total commitment to the ideals of APC as a political party of progressive minded people.

   The Osun APC caretaker Committee Chairman recalled that on the day of their inauguration by the governor of the state of Osun ,Mr Adegboyega Oyetola on the 12th of July 2021 ,the governor did implore them to hit the ground running because of the limited time  at their disposals in carrying out their assigned duties and responsibilities as political heads in their various Councils. 

  As politicians appointed by the governor among the pool of other equally qualified politicians who showed interest for the same positions but not  lucky to be chosen as Chairmen, Famodun maintained that they should live up to the good expectations of the governor and the entire people of the state of Osun.

He equally expressed conviction and confidence in their abilities to deliver the much expected dividends of democracy just as he urged them to operate an open door policies while discharging their duties.

Earlier in his short remarks shortly after watching the rancour free election to his satisfaction, Commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state, Prince Adebayo Adeleke commended the oneness and  maturity displaced before,during and after the emergence of Abiodun Idowu led ALGON.

 Prince Adebayo urged the old and new team to keep the ball rolling in all they say and do as chief executive officers as he similarly wished them a hitch free tenure in office. 

   In his acceptance speech which was full of thanks to the governor of the state, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, the leadership of the APC at the ward, local and state levels, the newly re-elected Chairman, Hon.Abiodun Idowu thanked his fellow colleague Chairmen for the love and support which  culminated  into his reelection as Chairman.

Hon. Idowu pledged his loyalty and commitment to do more in his second term in office for the overall development of the state of Osun and APC as a political party.

To achieve the desired successes in office,the Ifedayo local government council boss however called on his fellow local government Chairmen to continue to give him the needed support and cooperation as was the case during his first term in office as the state ALGON chairman.

Other executives of the new Osun ALGON are Honorables Folarin Fafowora, Vice Chairman, Oladosu Olubisi, Secretary, Kola Ajao Assistant Secretary with Fatoki Rafiu as Treasurer.

  Others are Honorables  Adeboye Anthony, Assistant Treasurer,  Akeem Tokede ,Financial  Secretary, Remi Abass, Assistant  Financial  Secretary, Akinwole Akinwale ,House of Assembly Liaison Officer, with  Oloyede Adekunle who emerged as the new Auditor of Osun ALGON.

Completing the new Executives are  Honorables  Elliot Adeyemi ,Legal Adviser, Felicia Omolaoye, Welfare Officer 1,  Rahaman Lawal, Welfare Officer 2,  Samson Oyebode ,Organizing Secretary, Jimoh Bolanle Assistant Organizing  Secretary,  Mufutau Adegbite, PRO1,  Wasiu  Adepoju, PRO 2,  Olubunmi Obeisun, Ex -Officio 1,and Hon Ishola Adeniyi who will serve as Ex-Officio 2.

 It would be recalled that the governor of the state Mr Adegboyega Oyetola not long ago  performed the inauguration of the 69 caretaker  Council Chairmen at a brief but symbolic occasion which took place at the Local Government Service Commission hall,state Secretariat, Osogbo.
