Oyo Govt, Technology Incubation Centre to Collaborate on Industrial Development

The Oyo State Government has promised to promote industrial development by giving necessary support to the Technology Incubation Centre (TIC), to create employment opportunities for its citizens and boost its economy.

The Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives, Barr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye, gave the assurance during a familiarization tour to TIC’s Zonal Office, Sango, Ibadan.

Speaking to newsmen after the inspection, Olaleye promised that his Ministry will collaborate with all Industrial occupants of the centre to create employment, promote technological inventions and promote entrepreneurial skills for the people of the state.

The Commissioner also stated that the revoked expanse of Industrial Estate land at Sango will be used for industrial purposes so that it will not go into waste.

Earlier, the commissioner held maiden meeting with the leaders of the 12 registered Trade clusters in the State where he appreciated them for their eagerness to work together in ensuring the realization of the agenda of His Excellency, Gov. Seyi Makinde at improving welfare of their members in particular and the people of the State in general.

In their different responses, the representatives of the leaders, Chief (Mrs.) Danjuma Odunayo, President, National Association of Nigerian Traders and Alhaji Yisau Kolayode Hamzat, President Tradesmen and Artisans pledged their readiness to cooperate with the present administration in the state in order for their members to enjoy the dividends of democracy and promote unity among all union members.

They also enjoined the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives to fast track the process leading to the inauguration of the State Market Leaders Council in the State.
