In a horrifying incident, suspected phone snatchers allegedly attacked and killed a man under the Kawo Bridge along Zaria Road in Kaduna, causing panic among residents.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred on Saturday night when the victim was confronted by the attackers, threatened with a knife, and robbed of his phone. One of the assailants reportedly told onlookers that the act marked a “resumption” of criminal activities in the area.
The victim, who has not yet been identified, was found in a pool of blood by local residents. Some witnesses shared photos of the lifeless body on social media, amplifying alarm in the community.
Business owners and residents in the area are calling for increased security measures. “We need more police patrols and surveillance cameras to catch these thieves,” a local trader said.
Attempts to obtain clarification from the Kaduna State Police Command were unsuccessful. Spokesman DSP Mansir Hassan had not responded at the time of filing the report.
The incident has raised renewed concerns over public safety in the area and calls for urgent action to prevent further attacks.
