PASAN Bayelsa Hosts Zonal Week, Hails Speaker Ingobere

The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Bayelsa State Chapter, has successfully hosted the South-South Zonal Week of the association.

The week-long programme kicked off with a crucial meeting at the Conference Hall of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly Complex in Amarata, Yenagoa, where members took far-reaching decisions on staff welfare, promotions, special allowances, pensions, and improved working conditions.

In the evening, members converged at Aridolf and Spar along Isaac Boro Expressway, Okaka, for a get-together.

National Ex-Officio member, Comrade Emmanuel Edozie, commended the Bayelsa Chapter for resolving all internal disputes that had earlier polarised the association, declaring that the chapter is now united.

Edozie lauded the State Chairman, Comrade Ikakara Ebiotu Peres, for mending fences and restoring peace. He also hailed Bayelsa’s record of producing many deputy clerks, describing it as impressive and a model for other state chapters.

Speaking at the event, Comrade Ikakara Ebiotu Peres described PASAN as the administrative engine room of the legislature that oils the wheel of democracy.

The 2026 PASAN Week hosted by the state chapter coincided with the birthday of the Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere.

He expressed appreciation to Speaker Ingobere for approving the demands of PASAN members and for supporting the state chapter to host the zonal week.

He wished the Speaker more years of good health and productive service.

Goodwill messages were delivered by the Delta State PASAN Chairman, Dr. Ben Abba, and other zonal leaders, including Comrade Siso and Comrade Faruk from Edo State.

In her vote of thanks, the Vice Chairman of PASAN Bayelsa State Chapter, Comrade Tari Amaseimo, said several issues were resolved at the meeting, leading to greater unity.

She commended the zonal leaders for sharing their knowledge and experience, describing the Bayelsa Chapter as one of the fastest-growing chapters in the country.

The zonal week featured a novelty football match between judiciary staff and members of PASAN Bayelsa.
