PDP Condemns Attack on Members In Kogi, Says 2023 not Business as Usual

The Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) on Monday in Lokoja condemned the attacks on its members saying “in 2023 it would not be business as usual incase of further attack on members”.

In a statement signed by the, Director of Communication of the Party, Dayo Onibiyo, condemned the attack on its members, adding that it would allow the police to conclude their investigation before taking action.

It would be recalled that several persons were allegedly injured after suspected thugs invaded the venue of a meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youths in Ologba, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.

According to eyewitness accounts, guns, knives, clubs, horns and other dangerous weapons were used by the invading thugs during the attack.

Though details of the incident are still sketchy, it was learnt that the hoodlums also burnt several vehicles and motorcycles belonging to some PDP members.

The house of the opposition party’s youth leader in Iyale, Selina local government was also set ablaze.

The PDP, however, appealed to her members to remain calm despite the provocation, and warned that the party will no longer fold her arms and see her members been attacked or killed.
