People Democratic Party (PDP) Elect Rtd. Colonel kefas Agbu as new party Chairman Taraba state.

The Peoples Democratic Party PDP, in Taraba has elected Rtd Colonel Kefas Agbu, the new Chairman of the party in State at the just concluded 2020 Congress.

Mr. Agbu who replaced the former party chairman, Victor Bala Kona, was unanimously elected unopposed by delegates at the Congress held in Jalingo, the State capital.

Mr Inuwa Bakare was elected deputy Chairman while Mr Korea Tafarki emerged the Secretary among other party executives.

On his acceptance speech, the new Chairman on behalf of other Exco said ”he would take the party to an enviable height and work for the reconciliation of aggrieved members of the party in the state.”

Mr. Agbu thank the party members for entrusting the leadership of the party to him and other Exco members, stressing that they will deliver on the expectations.

The State Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku said he was encouraged that the Congresses both at the local and state governments were successful.

Congratulating the new Exco, Governor Ishaku urged members of the party to support them for the overall interest of the PDP in the state and Nigeria at Large.

Our correspondent gathered that the State PDP Congress was largely peaceful but not well attended by the party stalwarts.

Speaking with some party faithfuls who witness the event, Dr. Aljani Umar said the event was a success but not well attended because some Party big wigs shunned the Congress because they are aggrieved by the outgoings leadership of the party and even the ones coming.

It was also gathered that the other strong contender with Col. Agbo Kefas, Sen. Danlami Joel Ikenya was also seen casting his vote for the winner amidts cheers and excitement
