Pete Edochie’s Near-Death Experience Caused by Overdrinking

By Daniel Edu

Benowned Nollywood veteran, Pete Edochie, has opened up about a harrowing incident that nearly cost him his life. In 1977, the actor was involved in a severe car accident when he drove under a stationary trailer. He attributed the accident to overdrinking, admitting that he had consumed too much alcohol that day.

Recalling the terrifying incident, Edochie shared that he was driving out of Nsukka but dozed off at the wheel, resulting in a collision with the trailer that pushed his vehicle into the bushes. By the grace of God, he survived the accident, despite the seriousness of the crash.

In addition to the car accident, the veteran actor also revealed that he had once been kidnapped, adding another close encounter with danger in his life.

Edochie disclosed these life-threatening experiences during a conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo. He acknowledged that he had faced some precarious situations but expressed gratitude to God for still being alive despite these near-death encounters.
